Frequently Asked Questions

What is a doula?

A doula is a trained professional who provides continuous emotional, physical, and informational support during your pregnancy, labor and in the first few weeks following delivery. My goal is to help make your birth experience as gentle, joyful, and meaningful as it can be.

What services do you offer?

I offer:

  • Personalized birth plan

  • Prenatal visits

  • On-call labor support

  • Continuous birth support

  • Postpartum visits

All care is non-medical and is an addition to regular prenatal care

Do you replace doctors or midwives?

No. I work alongside your medical team but do not provide clinical care. My role is to support you emotionally and physically while helping you make decisions that are right for you.

Do you replace my support team?

Absolutely not! Your support team is a vital part of the birth process. My job is to offer guidance, reassurance, and practical tips so they can feel empowered and involved every step of the way.

Are you available when I go into labor?

Yes. I am on call 24/7 starting at 38 weeks and will be ready to join you as soon as labor begins. If I am not able to join (before 38 weeks, sick or a family emergency) a back- up doula will be available for you.

Do you attend hospital births?

Yes. I support births in hospitals, birth centers, and at home. My goal is to support your choices—wherever and however you give birth.

Can you support high-risk pregnancies or planned cesareans?

Absolutely. I have experience with a wide range of birth scenarios and will provide support tailored to your unique circumstances. I have specialized with high risk pregnancies for over ten years and know how to best support you during these difficult situations.

Do you have a backup doula?

Yes. While I make every effort to attend your birth personally, I work with multiple trusted backup doulas who will be available if I am not. If you would like to meet the person who will be covering for me that is something we can arrange.
